The steps for setup and configuration of the service are documented in the README. And entails creating a cloud account for the service here, installing and configuring the plugin in your homebridge environment, and finally enabling and linking the Homebridge smart home skill from the Amazon Alexa App.

You can delete your account on the Delete Account Page.

If you are currently subscribed to Homebridge Alexa Cloud Services, you will need to cancel your subscription before you can delete your account. You can do this on the Manage Subscription Page.
In order to support password recovery, and subscription status updates an email must be supplied for service. Email is currently being used for lost password recovery, and trial account status updates.
You can change your email address on our Manage Email Page. Your email address must be validated in order for the service to activate.
A legacy account is an account that was created before subscriptions were introduced in March 2022. These will be moving to subscriptions in the spring of 2022.

When the transition to subscriptions for legacy accounts occurs, all legacy users will be converted to trial accounts with a month of trial before a subscription is required to continue service.

The conversion of legacy accounts to trial accounts occured on April 25th, 2022, with all legacy users having a trial period between 30 and 60 days in length.
A trial account is an account that currently does not have a subscription. This allows you to try out the service prior to signing up for a subscription.
Accounts that have been inactive for more than 30 days, and do not have an active subscription are automatically deleted.

Subscriptions

After the initial 7 day trial period for new users, a monthly subscription costs $2.00 USD per month or an annual subscription costs $22.00 USD per year. Basically buying me a coffee once a month ( cheaper than a beer ).
With the growth in users of the service and the amount of service usage the costs to run the service have been growing and we want to ensure that we can continue offer the service in sustainable manner. Over the years you may have seen comments on the growth on cloud capacity to support the service, and we are now running in a configuration that requires significant capacity to deliver the service.
Currently we are only supporting PayPal subscriptions, but may be open to other options in the future. You can setup your subscription from the Manage Subscription page.

If you do not want to use PayPal please send an email to discuss alternative payment options.
Please send an email to discuss alternative options.
No you do not need to wait for the end of the trial period in order to sign up for a subscription. The subscription will start automatically at the end of the trial period with the first payment on that day.
You can cancel your subscription from the Manage Subscription page and the `Cancel Subscription` button. This will cancel the PayPal subscription, and put your account back onto Trial status with the trial period extended based on most recent payment.
You will lose service if you did not enroll for a subscription by the time that your trial expires.
This happens after a number of payment attempts have failed. PayPal will then mark a subscription agreement as suspended and creating a new subscription agreement is the only way forward as we cannot remove the suspended status. To find out why a payment is failing it is best to check with the bank which has issued the card. Often a credit card issuer may not support currency conversion, in which case PayPal’s conversion option needs to be used.
